Please get in touch with us on email if you have a booking with us this winter! We may have to cancel your tour because of the recent developments with the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following advice from the Norwegian government, we, unfortunately, cannot arrange our normal schedule of tours in order to contain the spread of the virus outbreak. If you already have a tour with us these days, then please get in touch on email to sort out a free refund/rescheduling of your tour.
Dog sledding is in itself a very safe activity to pursue during a virus outbreak, you are always far away from other people, outside with gloves and with dogs that cannot, luckily, catch this virus. However, in our normal 6km and 15km tours, there will be several groups of people gathered which could lead to human contact.
What we are doing instead is to rather arrange longer tours with certain restrictions. The dogs really love these longer tours and it is a truly unique experience for people to take part in. We will do tours up to 30km long, and only for one family or small group of friends that isolate together. During these tours, you will always be a few meters apart from all staff and no other people will be there. Rather spend more time talking to and hugging the dogs!
Should you be interested in joining one of these tours then get in touch with Ida at firstname.lastname@example.org or +47 948 46 270! The normal booking site will not be operational these days, meaning we can try to fit the tour to your schedule.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and if it’s safe after some time to reopen the normal tours again then we will! It will then be important to keep a clear distance from other guests before your tour, while all sleds will be minimum 15 meters apart. We normally offer warm drinks and some food around a campfire in our lavvo after each tour, which unfortunately will not be available. The lavvo will be completely shut and there will not be any point or place where guests are brought together.
We wish you all good health and hope to be able to show you all the magic of dog sledding again very soon! Any news will be posted here and on our Facebook page.
